On Our Own is designed for people who find themselves alone or on their own by choice or due to life circumstances. A wide variety of activities are available – projects, missions, and social events.
The goal of this group is to provide an opportunity for all who are alone to join other members in group meetings and events. They meet the second Wednesday of each month to pack snack packs for our ministry to needy grade school children, plan future activities and go to lunch afterwards. On the 16th of every month, they also meet at a local theater to see a movie & have a meal.
You may find yourself on your own for one or more reasons. You may have chosen to remain single. You may be single again through death or divorce. Or you may be married with a spouse who is unable or has chosen to be socially inactive. You may desire the support and fellowship of others, or want to go to a movie or a theater performance with a group, or want to play cards, or want to travel. But you don’t want to do it on your own. Keeping active is a great way to stay happy and healthy, both physically and mentally. You may find great satisfaction in participating in the many missions within the church and community, social activities, and the support and friendships developed by those who are on their own.
