Discussion Leader: Pastor John Luoma

The great evangelist Billy Graham died on February 21st at 99 years of age. The Lutheran theologian Martin Marty said of him, “On the Mount Rushmore of American Religious History, three figures hold an undisputed place: Jonathan Edwards, MLK, and Billy Graham.” We will look at his life and theology and ask: what were his achievements, and what can Lutherans learn from him? We will look at a documentary on his life and several articles in Christianity Today that seek to evaluate his legacy. If you want to read these articles, simply google “Christianity Today and Billy Graham.”
