Sunday, December 23rd
4:00 pm – 5:00 pm
For those suffering through grief, illness, or loneliness, the ‘Most Wonderful Time of the Year’ may not feel so wonderful. Those touched by loss and depression can feel especially isolated or cheerless during the Christmas season. What is Red and Green for some is Blue for others, and it can be difficult to find joy in a season clouded by sadness.
If you or someone you know is struggling with grief or anxiety this Christmas season, Hope Lutheran Church invites you to our annual Blue Christmas Worship. This special service offers an opportunity to give your loss to God and experience Christmas worship without the grand ceremony or the demand to “be jolly.” Here you will find a community of others currently grieving or suffering from illness, family separation, or financial anxiety. You will be able to worship God and celebrate the birth of Jesus in peace. We will sing hymns, and as we close with Silent Night, we will pass the Christmas fire.
This service is intended to serve the entire Villages community and those close by. We encourage you to invite your friends, neighbors, and anyone in your life dealing with tragedy or pain. Please consider bringing your whole family.
