Hope Lutheran Church is offering regular Wednesday Evening Prayer at 6:00 pm in the Hope Central Campus sanctuary. For Wednesdays outside of Advent or Lent, the prayer service will be a simple service based on Evensong, or Vespers, which is the traditional Evening Prayer from the book of Evangelical Lutheran Worship. The worship consists of prayers, a psalm, canticles and a Scripture reading. During the seasons of Advent or Lent, more specialized or topical services will be offered, as have been in past years. The service will be led each week by one of the pastors or deacons and is open for all who would like to have a short, prayerful time with God in the midst of our community. Hope Lake Weir Campus Food Pantry Every Thursday 10:00am to 1:00pm Hope Lake Weir Campus In 2018, Hope Lutheran Church launched a small food pantry to help local families in the Summerfield area. The Hope Lake Weir Campus Food Pantry now regularly serves over 300 individuals through the efforts of our tireless volunteers and the generosity of our congregation. But it isn’t just food. Our volunteers provide love, prayer, and messages of Christ’s love for every person who joins us at the Food Pantry. Donations of food, money, and prayer are always accepted with humble gratitude. The Hope Lake Weir Campus Food Pantry is always accepting donations! Donations can be brought to Hope Central Campus or Hope Lake Weir Campus any time during operating hours. Christ himself invites us to learn this way in Matthew 6:6, “But whenever you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret; And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” This new way is called Centering Prayer. It does not replace the traditional way of praying but builds upon it. Many of our church members practice Centering Prayer already and they invite you to join them. Learn More →
