An Update from the Hope Lake Weir Campus Food Pantry

We thank God every day for the opportunity to serve our neighbors. The Lake Weir Food Pantry continues to grow, and new families are coming in every week. More than 125 families are now being served at the Food Pantry; that’s more than 350 individual household members! The need is great, and your generosity has been instrumental in making a difference.

Here is a story that comes to us from a couple of our volunteers: Linda Green and Anita Dillman recently met a woman who had first come to the Food Pantry looking to receive some food. It had become difficult for her just to afford a daily meal. But when she came to our church, she received more than a bag of food. She found a listening ear, a caring heart, and a shoulder to cry on. The volunteers made her feel so welcomed that she wanted to come again just to visit. Recently, there was a positive change in her circumstances and she ended up with some extra money at the end of the month. The first thing she did was come back to the Food Pantry and give a check for $100 to say thank you to a ministry that helped her in her time of need!

The stories of how God is touching the lives of many in the Lake Weir community through the Food Pantry Ministry are more than we can count. We hope to share more of these stories with you each month, so you can see how your generosity is making a difference.

But we need your help more than ever! The need for donations is growing constantly. We’re receiving new families each week, and we rely entirely on your generous donations.

Below are our most popular (and desperately needed) food items. We appreciate your help as you continue to generously support this ministry! And keep in mind: many of these items can be found at the Dollar Store.

Thank you for your partnership in sharing the love of Christ in our surrounding communities.

May God bless you as you serve our Lord Jesus.
