Support the Florida-Bahamas Synod Service Project!

Every year, the Florida-Bahamas Synod holds a Synod Assembly, where nominated congregational representatives gather and vote on Synod rules, elect Synod Council members, and elect representatives for ELCA’s churchwide assemblies. They also select the yearly service project.

Our Synod needs your help to make the 2019 service project a success! In 2019, the Synod is collecting donations to benefit the Community of Hope Center of Osceola County, a Homeless Outreach and Self-Sufficiency Center that provides resources and referrals for those who are seeking assistance while actively working toward self-sufficiency.

The Pinelands conference (that’s us!) has been asked to collect the following items:

  • Sterilite 56 qt storage bin with blue lid
  • Cereal & shelf stable milk
  • Granolas (all kinds)
  • Sunscreen (for lips, too!)
  • Large Zip-lock bags

The project is also collecting Walmart gift cards in any amount, and loose change or cash donations.

All donations may be dropped off in the labeled donation bin in the Tree of Hope hallway at Hope Central Campus.

These items are invaluable to the resource center and are desperately needed! Our volunteers and staff will bring the donations to the Synod gathering in June, as a show of support on behalf of our church. Let’s show our brothers and sisters in Christ that we support their ministry work!

Important Note:

When donating food items, please write the expiration date on the top of the box or can and cross out the bar code.
