Attention All Musicians!

Summer is quickly coming to an end, and Hope’s musical ensembles will begin rehearsals again in just a few short weeks! Want to be a part of the music team? We have an ensemble to fit your style and training level!

Check out the musical ensemble options offered at Hope:

Traditional Choirs

Voices of Hope (VoH) – This is Hope’s mixed choir, which sings regularly at 8:00am and 9:45am Sunday services at Hope Central Campus. VoH also prepares for all three traditional services at Central Campus for larger events, like Easter Sunday. Rehearsals are from 7:00pm to 8:30pm on Thursday evenings at Hope Central Campus. Rehearsals begin August 15th. VoH will perform their first Sunday morning anthem on September 8th.

Brotherhood of Harmony (BoH) – Hope’s men’s choir typically performs on the final weekend of each month at the 11:30am Sunday service at Central Campus. Rehearsals are held weekly on Thursday evenings at 6:00pm at Hope Central Campus. Rehearsals will begin August 22nd, and BoH will begin singing during service on September 29th.

Sisters in Song (SIS) – Hope’s women’s choir primarily sings on the second to last Sunday of each month at the 11:30am Sunday service at Hope Central Campus. They rehearse on Wednesdays from 3:45pm to 4:45pm at Central Campus. Rehearsals begin on August 21st. Their first anthem offering will be September 22nd.

Lake Weir Choir – This ensemble will sing for services at Hope Lake Weir Campus on Sundays. Rehearsals are held from 8:30am to 9:30am on Sunday mornings at Lake Weir Campus, immediately before service. They will offer their first anthem on October 13th.

The Combined Choirs of Hope (CCH) – The CCH is a combination of all ensembles and other congregants. The CCH performs in the Christmas Cantata, Tenebrae, and other larger performances. Those individuals who choose to sing with CCH will rehearse separately and do not need to commit to the other ensembles’ rehearsal times. Requirements for participation are announced church-wide in advance of each event.

Instrumental Ensembles

Spirit Ringers – This is Hope Central Campus’s handbell and handchime ensemble. They primarily perform on the first Sunday of the month at 11:30am service. The Spirit Ringers rehearse on Wednesdays from 2:30pm to 3:30pm at Central Campus. Members need to have some experience, or the ability to learn quickly. Consistent attendance is crucial, and members are asked to plan absences in advance. The first Spirit Ringers rehearsal will be on August 21st, and their first performance will be on October 6th.

Lake Weir Chimes – This is Hope Lake Weir Campus’s chime choir. They perform on 3 octaves of Malmark handchimes. They will resume rehearsing from 11:00am to 12:00pm on Sundays starting September 15th. Their first anthem will be on Reformation Weekend, October 27th, at Lake Weir Campus.

Contemporary Ensembles

Sonshine Celebration Band (SCB) – SCB performs weekly at Hope Central Campus during Contemporary worship. They consist of 1 or 2 lead vocalists, 2 or 3 background vocalists, and a rhythm section with keyboards, acoustic and electric guitars, electric or keyboard bass, and drums. Members are expected to be familiar with contemporary worship and modern church music.

If you’re interested in performing in any of these ensembles, please contact Ken Wood at ken@hope2all.org, or Dennis Keinitz (on behalf of the Lake Weir groups or the SCB) at dennis@hope2all.org. If you are a returning musician, you can email the music office at musicupdate@hope2all.org.
